Today, the terrible news came we had lost a giant on Conservative Twitter. If 'The Conservatives Own Twitter' (#TCOT), Nathan Wurtzel was one of the reasons. If you know that hashtag, you really have been on Conservative Twitter a very long time. Nathan was the voice of reason who could also put trolls in their place effortlessly. He was beloved and a needed voice in the Republican party right now. This is a massive loss and a huge blow.
Nathan described himself as a ZIonist in his Twitter bio. He loved Israel and the events of the past weeks had to have broken his heart.

K'far Aza is a collective village or kibbutz located in Southern Israel on the Gaza border (name literally means Gaza City). I visited in 2013 and was guided by a remarkable woman named Chen Kotler.
It has stayed with me ever since and when something goes wrong, I am always anxious for their safety.

I feared Saturday, October 7, would come someday. It did.
You've seen it on the news, or read about it. K'far Aza has been utterly destroyed and is an off-limits military zone.
As of yesterday, 42 residents have been murdered, 26 are not counted for, and 9 are captives in Gaza. At the time of the terrorist attack, about 600 residents were present.

Fortunately, Chen and her entire family have miraculously survived and so I was able to hear about it from her last night. It was hard.
