Al Jazeera is gunning for Vox’s position as a leader in reporting fake explanations for events.
They ran with a story attributing flooding in Gaza to Israel’s intentionally opening dams for that purpose. Some investigation by The Washington Examiner’s T. Becket Adams showed the story to be entirely false and Al Jazeera had to issue a full retraction.
Kudos to Al-Jazeera, network retracts story about #Israel opening "dams" that flooded #Gaza; credit where it is due pic.twitter.com/E8oauST4ax

@sfrantzman This is minimal integrity. Why the praise?

@TheMiddle123 Most papers didn't print retractions

@JohnEkdahl I'd like to stick this down the throats of ppl who say AJ is a "real" news network as opposed to @FoxNews. #JonCarroll @sfgate
