Environmental extremists are having conniptions over the Senate’s passage of the Keystone XL pipeline bill. It’s almost as if they want you to think that putting a pipe in the ground to transport fuel is a new untested technology.

A couple of anecdotal stories about a new pipeline are pretty negligible with that much pipe in the ground. The recent pipeline failures were likely construction errors that once fixed will never be a problem again.

For the greenies opposing Keystone it’s not really about Keystone. It’s about halting any energy progress whatsoever that doesn’t involve wind turbines, solar panels, or free-ange unicorn farts. Every project involving hydrocarbons will be treated exactly the same way.
