Jamil Smith works for the Melissa Harris Perry show on MSNBC so it should come as no surprise that self-awareness isn’t one of his strong suits. He probably thought this was a very serious and contemplative tweet.
I wonder how many careers exist in which you can turn your back on your boss while she or he speaks, and never fear you'll lose your job.

@JamilSmith @OccupyCleveland #NYC Mayor is technically NOT the boss of cops. Mayor exit after 4 or 8 yrs. #NYPD turn backs on @BilldeBlasio

@faineg In disagreement with the boss, not defiance. He hasn't forbidden it. We accept riot as legit expression, tho illegal. Why not this?

@JamilSmith @APLMom Wonder how many bosses can set you up to be killed and expect you to respect them?

Smith’s Twitter timeline has plenty of whining about public sector union-busting too. Apparently it’s perfectly fine for union employees to occupy the Wisconsin State House protesting a Republican governor, but turning one’s back to a leftist mayor is just wrong.
