There’s no getting away from shady tactics employed by Democrats to take down Republicans. The media empowers the left by ignoring their mistakes and questionable associations while attacking Republican foibles relentlessly. This is all playing out with the reports of Rep. Steve Scalise (perhaps unwittingly) speaking to a white supremacist group years ago. That’s a big story for a media who seldom if ever mentioned that until recently one of the Democrat elder statesmen in the U.S. Senate had been a recruiter for the KKK.
It’s a double standard and it’s not fair, but what can conservatives do about it? Townhall columnist and combat veteran Kurt Schlichter has some ideas. Not everyone agrees with his blunt assessment, but whether you do or you don’t, it’s definitely food for thought.
Re: #Scalise – #1: Sure, it's unfair to Scalise that this is happening. But it's the result of his actions. He needs to take the hit.

Re: #Scalise – #2: Scalise is damaged goods and is more useful to the Dems than to us. Normal Americans will be repelled by him and by us.

Re: #Scalise – #3: Scalise's career and cosmic justice are not my concern. Maximizing the combat power of conservatives is.

Re: #Scalise – #4: We owe nothing to Scalise. If anything, he owed us basic competence. And he failed to come through.

Re: #Scalise – #5: It's nothing personal, Scalise. Perhaps it's unfair, but you made yourself more liability than asset. You need to go now.

Re: #Scalise – #6: Can anyone articulate how it is to conservatism's advantage – not Scalise's – for us to risk our image for him? It's not.

There's a great scene in "The Big Red One" where Lee Marvin sends Mark Hamill forward because he's next. Scalise is expendable.

Obama attended a church where the preacher said "God damn America, that's in the bible" Media: *crickets* @E__Strobel @KurtSchlichter

Yep. Totally unfair. A huge double standard. And it's the reality we have to deal with. @Holden114 @E__Strobel

You assume the game is not rigged for the Dems. It is. We need to deal with wat is, not what should be. @Holden114 @danielbreid @E__Strobel

I am comfortable with my views vis-à-vis what Andrew Breitbart would have thought. @cdrusnret @LarryOConnor
