Jameis Winston is a Heisman Trophy winner and a two sport (football and baseball) athlete at Florida State. News broke today that Winston had been cited for shoplifting $32 worth of seafood from a Tallahassee Publix store, leading to his suspension from the FSU baseball team.
This shocked a lot of people given that Winston had played an entire football season with rape allegations hanging over him. Just this month the New York Times published a piece detailing what it deemed a “flawed rape investigation.”
Am I missing something or did FSU just act 99% faster investigating stolen crab legs than it did a rape allegation?

What in the WORLD is Jameis Winston thinking?!? With everything they he experienced in the past yr, both good/bad–why would he do this?!

Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston sees more fallout for stealing crab legs than when he faced rape accusations: http://t.co/o4t5yfDTBy

Why is there a press conference for Jameis Winston's crab leg theft allegation but never one for his rape allegation? http://t.co/FSnpDoinjA

I will reach out to @Jaboowins to make sure he's straight and please remember he's just a kid with alot of talent. We've all made mistakes.

Maybe Publix should be put in charge of Tallahassee rape investigations? http://t.co/88HwmE8BoI

Maybe FSU’s football program can learn something from its baseball program.
