It’s possible NBC sportscaster Bob Costas will have his one good eye on other things — like noted peacemaker Vladimir Putin — but you just know he’ll be itching to weigh in on this costume worn by pairs figure skater Simon Shnapir.
So just had US pairs skater wear a gun holster (awesome). Bob Costas will probably lose his mind over that one. #Sochi2014 #SochiProblems

U.S. figure skating pairs. Simon Shnapir is wearing an underarm gun holster. Gun control loons to sound off in 3, 2, 1 #Sochi2014

This figure skating team is on the ice to the Bond theme song and his outfit is complete with a shoulder holster. Awesome. Seriously.

Why is he wearing a gun holster? Um … because the routine had a James Bond theme. Here are a few pics from the official U.S. Figure Skating Twitter account.

I think US figure skating pairs man is wearing a gun holster. Not sure it sends the best message about America #Olympics

Leave it to America to do a gun-themed ice dance. #Sochi2014

Shnapir and his pairs partner, Marissa Castelli, skated to music from “Skyfall” when they earned the pairs title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in January. And yes, he was wearing one of those oh-so-horrifying holsters.
