Paging the P.R. department. P.R. department to the apology desk.
As Twitchy reported on Monday, pro football player Ty Nsekhe ignited a social media firestorm after he took to Twitter to bash soldiers. “It doesn’t take much skill to kill someone,” he tweeted in response to a tweet noting that football players earn more money than soldiers.
Nsekhe deleted his tweet and followed up by insisting his comments weren’t meant “to demean” members of the military.

Try again.
“@TY_Nsekhe: In no way were my comments meant to demean the members of our US armed forces.” Yes they were. pic.twitter.com/pWS7OTWvFD

Not only were they offensive you doubled down on them and went after @debostic for pointing them out. Apologize like a man. @TY_Nsekhe

You said them as encouragement? Stop lying RT “@TY_Nsekhe: In no way were my comments meant to demean the members of our US armed forces.”

Missing from Nsekhe’s tweets? The word “sorry.”
You know what would be great @TY_Nsekhe ? A simple apology for your remarks.

Your comments WERE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE! Your attempt to explain and obfuscate are even more suspect. Just APOLOGIZE. @TY_Nsekhe

This half-hearted retread if what I tweeted you earlier should be replaced by a retraction & apology to our troops! @TY_Nsekhe

@TY_Nsekhe Apologize to our heroic military and veterans. Your disrespect mirrors your cluelessness about what makes America great.

@ChrisLoesch A sincere retraction/apology followed by a big, fat donation to a veterans' org. @TY_Nsekhe —> #PutYourMoneyWhereYourMouthIs

@TY_Nsekhe know what a good apology would be? Donate your salary plus bonuses to a #veteran organization. @espn

We’ll leave Ty with this:
@TY_Nsekhe As a retired 20 year disabled vet let me be the 1st to say "You're welcome" for the right to make an ass of yourself on here.#FOH
