CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller had his eye on the burgers and fries at the White House Friday morning. But alas, they were for President Obama’s pre-Father”s Day luncheon and the chef wasn’t willing to share.
Bet the burgers are for Pres Obama's pre-Father's Day lunch for dads/kids & boys in the "Becoming a Man" pgm at Chicago's Hyde Park Academy.

I offered to taste one of the burgers for the chef, but got waved off. Nothing like burgers on the grill.

Knoller also spotted bowls of apples alongside the greasy deliciousness. His guess? “Probably for show.”
The grilled burgers were for the WH Father's Day lunch. Fries too. Bowl of apples on each table as well (probably for show).

He’ll pass.
No apples for me, thanks. But pass some more burgers and fries. And another glass of lemonade, please.

Pres Obama tells lunch guests mentions there'll be good ice cream for dessert. Then makes rounds for handshakes & photos.

On a somewhat related note:
@DanRiehl I continue to feel the market would support @markknoller dolls

What would a Knoller doll look like, Mr. Tapper?
@HardieEric @DanRiehl @markknoller more like a teddy bear capable of great feats — like an Ewok

@HardieEric @DanRiehl @markknoller something in between bc re cuddliness Knoller > Chewie
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) June 14, 2013
Update:
Knoller sees himself a little differently.
@HardieEric @jaketapper @DanRiehl Ewok? I see myself more 007. Tapper's been talking about a KnollerEwok doll since '09.
