Todd Akin appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” today, telling George Stehpanopoulos he will not attend the Republican National Convention.
On @GMA, Akin says he "respects the wishes" of RNC Chair Priebus and won't go to Tampa.

Better to bail than not be admitted @ABBruns: Todd Akin will not attend the Republican National Convention.

If Joe Biden's coming to the Republican convention, shouldn't they return the favor by sending Todd Akin to the Democrat convention?

In addition to asking Akin to steer clear of Tampa, the Republican National Committee chairman suggested he “step aside and let someone else run for that office.” Clearly that’s a wish he’s not quite ready to respect, but he did leave the door open.

Akin doesn't totally rule out the possibility of dropping out: "I don't know the future." @GMA

Instead of placing the blame solely on the “liberal media,” Akin turned his attention to villainous “party bosses.”

Great news: Akin now our crusader against "party bosses" … after six terms in Congress http://t.co/pky3Aioo

Ed Morrissey points out that for Akin, “party bosses” evidently include Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Michelle Malkin. But Akin did admit that Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are not part of the liberal media.
Akin says "you're right" that Hannity and Limbaugh are not the "liberal media." @GMA

So there’s that. Sigh.

I made clear I was staying in this race, yet this is the headline. http://t.co/D0XYKDyB Will you help me fight back? https://t.co/PZAfBLWg
