Although the truly unfortunate Entertainment Weekly cover is dated July 20, it was released well before the Aurora massacre that occurred during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.” Some Twitter users took Entertainment Weekly to task.

But most realize the “Batman’s Killer Finale” copy was a terrible coincidence that Entertainment Weekly editors wish they could undo.
