Romney won't go after Rev. Wright, repudiates use of Obama-style character assassination; conservatives react

Hey, wait, President Obama and his bootlickers don’t think it’s necessary to repudiate the actions of a super PAC. But the DNC couldn’t wait to slime Romney for a news story about super PAC plans to use Jeremiah Wright to attack Obama. A story he wasn’t even familiar with until a couple of hours ago:

We’re sure DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse will repudiate the lefties who want to use this super PAC’s proposal as an excuse to attack Mormonism. Any minute now.

Maybe he’s too busy pushing a boycott of the company founded by one of the people behind the super PAC?

Townhall has more from an interview with Romney:

I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they’ve described.  I would like to see this campaign focus on the economy, on getting people back to work, on seeing rising incomes and growing prosperity — particularly for those in the middle class of America.  And I think what we’ve seen so far from the Obama campaign is a campaign of character assassination.  I hope that isn’t the course of this campaign. So in regards to that PAC, I repudiate what they’re thinking about

Now that Romney has made clear he’s of the John McCain school of thought on Rev. Wright, conservatives are weighing in on Twitter and reaction is mixed.
