Federalist senior editor and bestselling author Mollie Hemingway exits today’s duo of congressional hearings featuring former Special Counsel Robert Mueller with several takeaways.
On the one hand, she was uncomfortable with how Mueller comported himself.

But on the other hand, she found the glaring result of his testimony — which was virtually nothing — to be very revealing.

She characterizes the hearings as a desperate attempt by partisan Democrats to all but beg the former special counsel to help them.
Democratic Rep. Peter Welch helps a seriously struggling Mueller come up with a word. "You help me and I'll help you," he says, which is how both hearings have overtly sounded — Democrats and Mueller attempting to help each other however unsuccessfully.

She concludes that today’s hearings did more to raise questions about Mueller and his investigation than they did to determine anything further about collusion.
Entire premise of today's hearings was that the movie would be better than the book. No one anticipated what was to happen, that Mueller would show himself to be doddering and not in command, raising huge questions about who actually ran the investigation and to what ends.

Hard to imagine it could have gone any worse for Democrats.
