The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that the number of Americans who are “very satisfied” with their personal financial situation is at its highest level in the history of the survey.

As Hugh Hewitt points out, the economy tends to drive elections more than any other factor, and with 74 percent of Americans somewhat or very satisfied with their own economic position, it has to be a positive sign for the GOP.
And the combined number from respondents on their personal satisfaction with the economy is an eye popping 74% positive number. That’s off the charts. If it really is “It’s the economy stupid” then @SenateGOP and @HouseGOP are feeeling wind at their back. https://t.co/yb6pP1ec2N

Of course, NBC’s headline on the poll was that Democrats hold an advantage heading into the midterm elections.

And John Harwood says Trump has rallied white working-class voters by “targeting immigrants,” whatever that means.

It is as if Trump himself summoned the migrant caravan to approach the United States/Mexico border.
That's not really what the poll said.
It mostly said the polls are tightening… Which is what you'd usually expect.
Harwood's spin here… Is not good. https://t.co/iEKRSgG5wI

Regardless, if the economy is what drives this midterm election, Tuesday should be a good day for Republicans.
John, curious to what you think about the stat buried at the end of the poll that says 74% of Americans are satisfied with it their own financial situation. To me that sounds important.

Very important.
