Several prominent Congressional Democrats publicly decried an ad in the New York Times taken out by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. The ad was very critical of National Security Adviser Susan Rice, implying that genocide is her “blind spot.”
NYT ad is reprehensible & wrong. @SusanRice has tirelessly fought for human rights & for the state of Israel. I thank her for her service.

Ad in NYT is vile and contemptible and has no place in legitimate discourse. Susan Rice is owed an apology.

We should stay focused on preventing a nuclear Iran and protecting human rights. The ad attacking @AmbassadorRice in the NYT helps neither.
— Senator Chris Coons (@ChrisCoons) March 1, 2015
Disgraceful ad in @NYTimes further politicizes Netanyahu's speech to Congress and disparages human rights leader @AmbassadorRice.
— David Cicilline (@davidcicilline) March 1, 2015
Ad taken out in today's @nytimes against @AmbassadorRice is disgusting, offensive & completely without merit.
— Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (@RepDWStweets) February 28, 2015
The NYT ad targets @AmbassadorRice, a dedicated supporter of Israel, public servant and voice against genocide. Shame on them.
— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) February 28, 2015
@AmbassadorRice deserves apology from @RabbiShmuley
for deeply offensive ad. Wall-to-wall Jewish group condemnation entirely justified.— (((Rep. Nadler))) (@RepJerryNadler) March 1, 2015
The following tweets are from two lawmakers who are so concerned about human rights they won’t even be attending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress Tuesday.
Disgusted by wacky ad taken out against @ambassadorrice -irresponsible to attack someone who has devoted career to defending human rights.
— Tim Kaine (@timkaine) March 1, 2015
Ad in today's NYT slandering Susan Rice is wrong on the facts — she's a fierce defender of human rights and Israel's security.

Gotta love that selective concern.
