Shireen Abu Aqleh, a journalist for Al Jazeera, was shot and killed while covering an alleged raid by Israeli troops on the Jenin refugee camp:

Palestinian sources are blaming Israel for her death:
#UPDATE Veteran Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh has been shot dead by Israeli troops as she covered a raid on Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, an @AFP photographer reportshttps://t.co/UQx6mCRRHU pic.twitter.com/1MrPBNtVm5

A fellow Al Jazeera said she was killed “in cold blood” by the Israelis:
"The first bullet hit me and the second bullet hit Shireen. They killed her in cold blood."
Al Jazeera journalist Ali al-Samoudi who was next to Shireen recounts the moment she was killed by Israeli occupation forces.

But. . .
Video posted to social media from the perspective of the Palestinian terrorists shows them claiming they shot a soldier. Since the reporter was wearing body armor and a helmet, she could easily have been mistaken for one of the Israeli troops in the area:
This morning, in Jenin, terrorists heard saying: "They've hit one, they've hit a soldier, he's laying on the ground"
But no IDF soldier was injured in Jenin
Palestinian terrorists, firing indiscriminately, are likely to have hit Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aqla pic.twitter.com/nXNbVJrnkC

Israel is investigating further:
Defense Minister @gantzbe on the death of Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aqla: Preliminary findings from the investigation conducted by the IDF in the last several hours indicate that no gunfire was directed at the journalist – however the investigation is ongoing.
— Israel Foreign Ministry (@IsraelMFA) May 11, 2022
On the other hand, we have seen footage of indiscriminate shooting by Palestinian terrorists, which is likely to have hit the journalist. We will communicate our findings in a clear and transparent manner to our American friends, as well as to the Palestinian Authority.

People are saying, however, that the area where the above video was filmed is nowhere near where the journalist was shot:
As many observers pointed out. The video of the gunman shooting in Jenin, is nowhere near the scene where Abu Aqla was killed.pic.twitter.com/JJdLbpIqC6

So, we have two different sides to this story. . .
The Palestinian health ministry said the reporters were hit by Israeli fire. The Israeli military said its forces came under attack with heavy gunfire and explosives while operating in Jenin, and that they fired back. https://t.co/SEhoAfG9ii

. . .and one side is committed to a thorough investigation of what happened:
The death of Al Jazeera’s Shireen Abu Akleh, shot while covering a heavy exchange of gunfire between Palestinians and Israeli forces in Jenin, is terrible. It must be investigated.
Israel has offered to conduct a joint investigation with the Palestinians, who have refused. Why?
— Avi Mayer (@AviMayer) May 11, 2022
Yes, it is curious:
Curiously, not only did the Palestinians reject Israel’s offer of a joint investigation – they rushed to conduct a funeral for Abu Akleh and transfer her body out of Jenin for burial, thus preventing an autopsy that might have shed light on the circumstances of her death.
Why?
— Avi Mayer (@AviMayer) May 11, 2022
Why would the Palestinians refuse this?
What we know:
➡️ IDF was conducting counter-terror op in Jenin.
➡️ There was fierce clash.
➡️ Palestinians claimed Israeli hit, but no soldier injured.
➡️ Shireen likely hit by indiscriminate Palestinian firing.
➡️ Israel calls for joint investigation. Palestinians refusing. pic.twitter.com/AMSXyNowPN

Palestinian officials are denying any offer for a joint investigation was even made:
Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister denied any offer was made by the Israeli government to probe the death of Al Jazeera reporter Shereen Abu Akleh, adding that "the Palestinian Authority will transfer this file to the International Criminal Court"https://t.co/vzi6hK1muw
