Fox News fired back at those calling for the firing of Jesse Watters over that edited clip we told you about yesterday where he suggested ambush-style interviews of Dr. Anthony Fuauci to deliver a rhetorical “kill shot.” From Yahoo News:
“Based on watching the full clip and reading the entire transcript, it’s more than clear that Jesse Watters was using a metaphor for asking hard-hitting questions to Dr. Fauci about gain-of-function research and his words have been twisted completely out of context.”
But Fox’s statement was tame when compared to that of Greg Gutfeld, noting the “even libs agree” Watters wasn’t saying what CNN insinuated he said in the clip:
if @JesseBWatters wasn't a private citizen he could sue the shit out of CNN. he was suggesting asking hard questions; CNN deliberately clipped it to fabricate a physical threat.Even libs agree. As CNN deny real crime, they create fake ones. U must fight back, or you're next.

And he called on CNN’s John Berman to “be a man” and “correct it”:
yo @johnberman – U seem reasonable. U must admit what U did was in error. maybe they gave u the wrong tape, or edited, so u were tricked. but realize @JesseBWatters was talking about the usual 60 minutes style of asking questions. not violence. Be a man: correct it. It matters.

The Washington Post’s Dave Weigel was quick to note that Watters wasn’t talking about violence:
Watters isn't talking about violence at all! He's advising the crowd on how to ask Fauci a tough question on video.
"Thirty seconds! Now, you get that footage to us."
Still weird. Imagine @chrislhayes telling Netroots which questions to ambush Rs with.https://t.co/DUIvPPuipj

And Twitchy regular Parker Molloy even agreed with him:
I'm inclined to agree with @daveweigel here. I think the Watters clip is interesting, but for a different reason that has nothing to do with the words "ambush" or "kill-shot."
He gives a bit of a peek behind the curtain, explaining how the right-wing media complex works. https://t.co/bfi3sunfFA
