Dr. Mehmet Oz, now that he’s running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, is under fire from conservatives over past statements he’s made on gun issues like this one demanding the CDC study gun violence:
Right now, the @CDCgov is NOT funded to study gun violence in this country. It’s time we treat shootings as a public health problem. Contact your congressperson today to demand they fund the #CDC to comprehensively study gun violence. #EndTheBan https://t.co/iFDGMG7fI5 pic.twitter.com/lZdMXW5zLC

We have questions. From Townhall’s Kurt Schlichter:
Het @DrOz – you and your mystery team have reached out to NO conservative media that I am aware of.
You call yourself a Republican, but you seem to dig CRT and gun control.
Why again should we not see you as a carpet-bagging TV trying to buy a GOP seat to then be a RINO? https://t.co/wff9R4SdnY

Oz went on Sean Hannity to do a little damage control, saying “I’m strongly pro-second amendment” and “I have my CCP and I have guns”:
"I’m strongly pro second amendment. I have my CCP and I have guns" @DrOz defends against criticism that he’s against the second amendment with @seanhannity on @FoxNews #Election2022

Um, in which state does he have the CCP? Is it in New Jersey or Pennsylvania?
Dr. Mehmet Oz’s claim to residency in Pennsylvania may be both recent and tenuous, but that won’t keep him off the crowded GOP ballot of contenders seeking to replace U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey. https://t.co/O64PqOQBJ6

Oz also told Hannity one reason why he’s running is because of how the government handled the pandemic early on with lockdowns and such:
“I witnessed what happened during Covid and it was reprehensible what politicians did, closing parks" Dr Oz about why he is running for Senate

Again, let’s go to the videotape:
NEW: @DrOz endorsed lockdowns & complimented China at outset of pandemic — seemingly harmless remarks for a doctor at outset of pandemic w/ little known about COVID. Two yrs later, as GOP contender for #PASEN, those comments could be trouble. https://t.co/S1kEjYViMI @dcexaminer

He’s also “passionately defended” Roe in the past:
SCOOP: In a bonkers 2019 interview that included Dr. Oz describing his homemade wet wipe recipe, the GOP candidate passionately defended Roe & said it was weird that conservatives kept trying to repeal it. Now he says he’s cool with it. Me @thedailybeasthttps://t.co/PywuGGnXHO

Yeah, this is not going well:
I can do this all day @DrOz
