With the Atlanta Braves clinching a spot in the World Series against the Houston Astros, Georga Gov. Brian Kemp couldn’t resist taking a shot at Major League Baseball for moving the All-Star Game to Denver this summer to protest the state’s new voting law.
“While Stacey Abrams and the MLB stole the All-Star Game from hardworking Georgians, the Braves earned their trip to the World Series this season and are bringing it home to Georgia,” he tweeted:

Former Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal added that the “baseball gods have a sense of humor”:
.@MLB moved All Star game from Atlanta to punish GA for voter integrity laws. Baseball gods have a sense of humor. World Series to be played in TX and GA.

But, get this. . .
Game 6, if it’s needed, is scheduled for November 2 which just so happens to be election day:
I was waiting until the Braves won the NLCS to point this out, but a possible Game 6 of the World Series is scheduled for Nov. 2, which is Election Day in Atlanta 🙃 #atlpol #gapol pic.twitter.com/WaGjVzahQm

And there’s a mayoral election in Atlanta so it’s kind of a big deal:
For planning purposes … Game six of the World Series would be on Nov. 2 — the same night as Atlanta’s mayoral elections and hundreds of other local + municipal races across the state. #gapol pic.twitter.com/ak6bn4vSoj

Over to you, MLB. Holding the game on November 2 could dampen turnout. If they felt the need to move the All-Star Game to save democracy, why not reschedule the World Series?
The World Series could happen on the same day as Election Day this year. (Would be Game 6.) I don't think that has happened before. Almost happened in 2009, but it was a scheduled off day. Also 2010 but that series ended in five (and Election Day was a skedded off day).
