The new book, “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year,” by Washington Post journos Carol D. Leonnig and Philip Rucker reports that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley “urged” then President Trump to order the attack on Qasem Soleimani, allegedly telling Trump at the time “you will be held criminally negligible for the rest of your life if you don’t do this”:

So, libs, is Gen. Milley still your hero?
The fashionable media narrative of late is that Milley is the noble general who stood up to Trump. Meanwhile in reality, Milley was privately encouraging Trump to assassinate Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian general who defeated ISIS, & whose murder by the US could've triggered war. https://t.co/u31jTXTdcn

In other words, in January of 2020, Gen. Milley was okay risking war with Iran with the guy a year later he was comparing to Hitler:

Good to keep in mind given Milley's recent round of interviews have him portrayed as the steady hand on the controls. https://t.co/i6tZhBBPK6

Gen. Milley is basically “your standard Twitter-obsessed Resistance paranoid”:
The big story here is that the senior-most officer in the US military holds views that are interchangeable with your standard Twitter-obsessed Resistance paranoid pic.twitter.com/bMM5zb2rzp

Gen. Milley defended the president’s decision at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing in March 2020:
"Absolutely think it was the right call" per @thejointstaff's Gen Mark Milley
"I second the idea that we reestablished deterrence" Milley adds, saying he would be happy to explain why he thinks that in a classified setting

"I believe the intelligence was compelling" Gen Milley adds of need to carry out strike vs #Iran's #Soleimani to stop attack on US targets
"I believe that I, Sec Esper, the president & many many others would have been culpably negligent had we not taken the action we did"
— Jeff Seldin (@jseldin) March 4, 2020
"…many Americans would have died as a result" if US had NOT taken out #Iran's Qassem #Soleimani, per Gen Milley
