This month’s New York Magazine cover story is on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and asks why his “cruel behavior that disguised chronic mismanagement” was “celebrated for so long?”:
Andrew Cuomo’s governorship has been defined by cruel behavior that disguised chronic mismanagement. Why was that celebrated for so long? @rtraister reports https://t.co/j4k9nh3pYs pic.twitter.com/ykHJ4PVDLu

Well, boy, that’s a real mystery!
Thankfully we have Janice Dean here to remind New York Magazine of its OWN ROLE in selling Cuomo to America:
So @NYMag has a cover story about @NYGovCuomo getting away with bad behavior and asks WHY? Lol. They are the WHY and this thread ? shows it. Shame on you @NYMag. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM! https://t.co/FSG67ArNrJ

Remember this?
Through the spring and summer, as President Trump essentially ignored the coronavirus, @NYGovCuomo played a kind of alternate-reality president for information-hungry liberals nationwide. He spoke with @dwallacewells https://t.co/1ChHMoSLEb

This thread goes after New York Magazine for its October 2020 fluff piece of Cuomo that avoided any of the real issues:
NYMag gets a long interview with Andrew Cuomo, doesn't press him *at all* on his order to nursing homes that they must accept COVID-positive patients.
Nothing about rescinding the order. Nothing about data secrecy. Nothing about refusing an independent investigation. Nothing. https://t.co/0KtTutVQfW

This is the only mention of Cuomo's nursing home order in the entire interview. pic.twitter.com/qhzLdPiof6

Cuomo isn't even asked a question about nursing homes, but in a footnote the author acts as a Cuomo flak, repeating his deflection that controversy over New York's nursing home deaths is nothing but a right-wing smear campaign.

@NYMag's Cuomo interview is what Orwell (or whoever, since it's probably apocryphal) was talking about:
“Journalism is printing what someone else does not want published; everything else is public relations.”
— Anthony L. Fisher (@anthonyLfisher) October 18, 2020
NYS Democrats and non-partisan journalists want an independent investigation into nursing home COVID deaths. Cuomo refuses, calls it a right-wing smear.
Any journalist privileged enough to get an interview needs to at least ask a question about it. https://t.co/PGNWEiV30O

It’s not just New York Magazine. CNN has a lot to answer for, too:
“Why was that celebrated for so long?!???” ?
Because magazines like yours celebrated him and did fawning interviews when his horrible book came out. Shame on you @NYMag https://t.co/ccVmcWnYnW
