Parler CEO John Matze told Reuters News that his social media platform “may not return” after multiple vendors stopped doing business with the company in the wake of the Capitol takeover on January 6:

But he later added that he’s an “optimist” and “it may take days, it may take weeks but Parler will return and when we do we will be stronger”:

One thing that would certainly help the company is if President Trump were to join. But in a legal filing against Amazon, Matze says the president was going to join using a pseudonym:
Trump wanted to join Parler and call himself 'Person X' before it shut down, according to the CEO of the social media app https://t.co/io9Ka98WKI

And he thinks this played a part in Amazon’s decision to cancel its contract with Parler:
Amazon had been aware since October that Trump was considering moving to Parler, under the pseudonym "Person X," Matze said.
Matze believes that AWS's decision to boot Parler was motivated by political animus. In his telling, AWS wanted to "deny President Trump a platform." pic.twitter.com/0gsqmKjJP3

Additionally, the NYT is reporting that Jared Kushner and Dan Scavino “pushed back and stopped” President Trump from joining Parler officially after he was banned from Twitter:
"In the days after Twitter banned Trump from its platform, McEntee pushed the president to migrate to other social media sites, such as Parler. But Kushner and Scavino pushed back and stopped the president from joining the fringe platform." https://t.co/wekw1iPj5V

With Parler gone, users are flocking to Telegram:
Hoards of Donald Trump supporters have descended on Telegram in the wake of his Twitter ban and the Parler shutdown.
The fastest-growing Trump Telegram channel now has 540,000 subscribers – 370,000 of whom joined since January 6 https://t.co/jPKqBIrOFQ

So, how soon until that channel is shut down, too?
