As we told you yesterday, ABC’s Matthew Dowd was roundly dragged for his vicious, sexist dismissal of GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik:

But the story is actually worse than we thought. Apparently, while Rep. Stefanik was at Harvard, she helped Dowd with research on a book. So, not only did he attack her, he totally forgot that she helped him once?
Wow. @EliseStefanik helped Matthew Dowd write a book while she was a student @Harvard and Dowd "thanks" her years later by writing a sexist tweet saying the she only got elected to Congress because she is a millennial woman. https://t.co/hG4yJNyabg

Not a good look for Dowd, that’s for sure:
Hahahhah OMG Thank you for reminding me of this! I had forgotten that Dowd was involved. Loved working as an undergrad researcher with @ron_fournier on this book project. ??? Thanks my friend @StevenEJohnston ! https://t.co/dYzOhcgiFt

Co-author Ron Fournier jumped in to defend Dowd, FWIW:
.You and your colleagues were a huge help, Elise. Forever grateful. Strongly disagree with your defense of Trump’s actions, but I don’t doubt your sincerity. I saw Matthew’s apology and don’t doubt his either. Here’s that full story btw (Hey, Steven!) https://t.co/kxiioPeFF8
