RATIO ALERT.
PETA is getting dragged, and rightfully so, over this tweet trashing the late Steve Irwin who was honored by Google on his birthday.
According to PETA, “Today’s #GoogleDoodle sends a dangerous, fawning message. Wild animals are entitled to be left alone in their natural habitats.”
#SteveIrwin was killed while harassing a ray; he dangled his baby while feeding a crocodile & wrestled wild animals who were minding their own business. Today’s #GoogleDoodle sends a dangerous, fawning message. Wild animals are entitled to be left alone in their natural habitats. https://t.co/9JfJiBhGLw

Maybe their goal is to get people to eat more animals?
it’s like you’re trying to make sure everyone eats meat, wears fur, hunts game, and adopts cute animals. i gotta say i’m impressed at how bad you are at your jobs. it’s a remarkable talent.

Even donors aren’t happy:
I supported @peta with a fixed amount of money every month.
That was until I read this tweet.

More anger:
There have been few people who have done more for wildlife conservation and education than the Irwin family. You owe them an apology.

You’re like the kid who wasn’t invited to the party but came anyway and shat in the pool just to get a reaction

Block me back.

Also, pot, meet kettle:
Steve Irwin devoted his life to saving animals. You euthanise, on average, 85% of the animals in your kill shelters. ? https://t.co/Tt28fe0ZVV

How many animals did Steve kill?
In 2014, PETA took in 3,017 animals, about 1 percent of the total number brought to private Virginia shelters. Of those, PETA euthanized 2,455, or 81 percent. In some prior years, that rate has risen above 90 percent. https://t.co/dKMlDP78iz

Steve Irwin did far more for the conservation of animals than @PETA has ever done. In Virginia alone a PETA dog shelter killed 71% of the dogs and cats that were brought in. But rather than take the L, PETA doubled down with two more hot takes:
Steve Irwin’s actions were not on target with his supposed message of protecting wildlife. A real wildlife expert & someone who respects animals for the individuals they are leaves them to their own business in their natural homes.
— PETA (@peta) February 23, 2019
It is harassment to drag exotic animals, including babies taken from their mothers, around from TV talk shows to conferences & force them to perform as Steve Irwin did. Animals deserve to live as they want to, not as humans demand––the #GoogleDoodle should represent that.

Whatever, PETA. Enjoy the hate clicks:
