At an earlier telephonic hearing, a judge blasted Palm Beach County for not being ready for all of this, but noted that election law “was not written in a way to deal with potential problems” of this magnitude:
During the hearing this a.m., Judge Walker did not sound amenable to the idea of extending the recount deadlines – esp after it was pointed out Palm Beach can keep doing its machine recount past 3 p.m. PBC can include those numbers in final ones due Sunday

Walker took shots at PB County for not having enough machines and could not understand why they were not better prepared. But he also said existing recount law was not written in a way to deal with potential problems
