As we told you earlier, CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins was barred from covering President Trump’s Rose Garden presser with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker after she “shouted questions and refused to leave” the Oval Office during an earlier pool spray:
In statement, White House @PressSec acknowledges barring CNN reporter @kaitlancollins because she “shouted questions and refused to leave” Oval Office at end of pool spray. If that’s the standard, they will have to bar every member of the press pool since that’s what all of us do

In case you don’t remember, Collins got her start at The Daily Caller, where she was roundly praised for her work at the conservative publication:
. @kaitlancollins asked some of the best questions of this White House as a Daily Caller reporter, and she has continued asking some of the best questions as a CNN reporter. She also happens to be one of the nicest reporters I know. You should follow her if you don’t already.

And in a show of solidarity, Bret Baier tweeted that Fox News “stands firmly with @CNN on this issue and the issue of access”:
As a member of the White House Press pool- @FoxNews stands firmly with @CNN on this issue and the issue of access https://t.co/TFwfLQtP9h

He later followed that up on air:
.@FoxNews backs @CNN after White House bars reporter:
“We stand in strong solidarity with CNN for the right to full access for our journalists as part of a free and unfettered press” Fox President Jay Wallace says in statement. @BretBaier echoes on air: https://t.co/izsdbConcx— Peter Baker (@peterbakernyt) July 25, 2018
And this didn’t sit well with some Fox News viewers:
Good luck with your viewing. https://t.co/Xk7NQoC1e0

When Sam Donaldson would yell questions at Ronald Reagan – what do you think folks supporting the President called him? https://t.co/oDnpodHpXR
— Bret Baier (@BretBaier) July 26, 2018
Baier brought up how CNN stood up for Fox News when the same thing happened during the Obama administration:
When President Obama’s administration left us out of round robin interviews — CNN and @jaketapper spoke out for us. As a member of the WH press pool – on the news side – that’s what is supposed to happen. https://t.co/cDci9VUxJP

Actually you’re wrong. But thank you for weighing in. https://t.co/6bsFCoItW5
— Bret Baier (@BretBaier) July 26, 2018
And he went out of his way to explain, nicely, how things work during a “pool spray”:
That’s not how it works at the White House for what’s called a “pool spray”. Never has been. https://t.co/M70VjB7hvr
— Bret Baier (@BretBaier) July 26, 2018
Sorry you feel that way. They are members of the WH press pool. Kaitlan was doing what pool reporters do. We stand for access for WH reporters-no matter what you think about their coverage. Again -no Reagan supporter loved Sam Donaldson-but he was there-always. https://t.co/X8Oa7IQT6z
— Bret Baier (@BretBaier) July 26, 2018
And the Fox News star was even nice to those that spelled his name wrong:
It’s Bret with one ‘t’. And Thanks for watching while you have. https://t.co/8wyfPlnETO
