ABC’s chief political analyst took on Tomi Lahren on Twitter earlier tonight … and lost. Badly.
The exchange started after Dodd linked Trump’s travel ban to gun control measures:
Why do the same folks who push for a travel ban (which does nothing on security) also fight against gun reform saying it will do nothing?
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) October 8, 2017
Tomi Lahren’s response:
Well Matt ISIS explicitly said it places sleeper cells in refugee population while law abiding gun owners DO NOT promise to murder. Got it? https://t.co/boiyqvOl3m

But rather than quit while he was behind, Dowd got stupid. Really stupid:
More Americans were killed in Las Vegas in one night than have been killed by radical islam in last ten years.
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) October 8, 2017
Wait, is he serious about that? Apparently so:
Huh??? It is a fact.
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) October 8, 2017
Keep digging!
Last ten years. Can you read?
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) October 8, 2017
What i find fascinating is the Trump fan club constantly calls other people stupid. And when you respond w/ facts, they get pissed.

Sigh. Here are the facts:
Add Orlando and San Bernardino together and already your tweet is exposed as fantastically false https://t.co/RV7FSrgCkl

From CNN on US Terror Attack Fast Facts:
Major Nidal Hassan 2009: 13 dead.
Boston Marathon 2013: 3 dead.
Tennessee recruiting center 2015: 5 dead.
San Bernardino 2015: 14 dead.
Pulse nightclub 2016: 49 dead.
Oh, and how about we do Chicago next?
More Americans were killed in Chicago last year than by radical Islam in the last ten years
