Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, did the rounds on the morning shows on Tuesday to help explain National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s resignation on Monday.

She did run into a few problems, however, when she tried to explain away a Washington Post story alleging that the White House knew that Flynn hadn’t been truthful with Vice President Pence but hadn’t acted on it.

First up, here’s NBC’s Matt Lauer who said she made “no sense” that Flynn’s omissions to the Vice President was the “straw that broke the camel’s back”:

And here she is with George Stephanopoulos saying, “I don’t know” if the president had been warned by the DOJ, as alleged in the WaPost report:

The Washington Post reported on Monday that the DOJ warned the White House that Flynn might be “vulnerable to blackmail” over the now former national security adviser’s admitted error:

Flynn stepped down amid mounting pressure on the Trump administration to account for its false statements about Flynn’s conduct after The Washington Post reported Monday that the Justice Department had warned the White House last month that Flynn had so mischaracterized his communications with the Russian diplomat that he might be vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow.
