Somebody is off message and, surprisingly, it’s Rep. Steve King of Iowa. Here’s what he said to a bunch of reporters a few minutes ago at the Iowa State Fair:
. @SteveKingIA just said @HillaryClinton "outside of the press, outside of the public eye is someone I can work with."

Huh – a morsel of praise for Clinton from Steve King. Says outside of the media glare, sitting down at table, she's someone he can work with

Make no mistake: @SteveKingIA Iowa is voting for Trump and doesn't support Clinton. But he says he can work with her.

Here’s the transcript:
What's amazing about this @SteveKingIA quote is it actively plays into Clinton narrative about her time in Congress pic.twitter.com/GACP2KWhQ3

Cruz-supporter King had just endorsed Trump-Pence at a rally this week:
Thanks Rep Steve King for your support of #TrumpPence! We will put American jobs 1st & Make America Great Again! https://t.co/LnHmTMuJhS

But that endorsement was heavy on Mike Pence, not necessarily because of Trump:

And the countdown begins until Hillary uses this in an ad:
