Meredith McIver, an “in-house staff writer at the Trump Organization,” just released a statement taking full responsibility for the plagiarized parts of Melania Trump’s convention speech on Monday.

According to MiIver, Melania Trump read her parts of Michelle Obama’s speeches that she liked and those excerpts were accidentally included in the final draft.

McIver offered to resign and Donald Trump refused, allegedly saying “people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from this experiences.”
