Feminist outrage was out in full force this week at a video of actors Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, stars of the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” for calling Scarlett Johansson’s character in the film a “slut” and a “whore.”
Ugh RT Apparently #ChrisEvans & #JeremyRenner think it's funny to call Black Widow a "slut" http://t.co/hqk98WrDU4 pic.twitter.com/xPwQRFajHV

Good lord => WATCH: Avengers Call Fictional Black Widow a “Slut”… Liberals Lose It http://t.co/WQxgpwMwFl pic.twitter.com/YOYah8dGBT

Captain America would never call a woman a whore. The man who plays him is a different story. @BostonDotCom http://t.co/lgWUHGa0xD

The two actors have since apologized:

But Amanda Marcotte thinks the “outrage” is pretty stupid:

And laments that “Internet feminists” can’t take a joke:

Really? When exactly did this golden age of comedy among “Internet feminists” take place? We’d love to read some of their greatest hits:

@AmandaMarcotte @amelapay The irony, it is delicious.

Funnier than all this are some of the feminists pushing back on Marcotte’s “Internet feminist” line as if they’re not real feminists in the struggle against the patriarchy:
@AmandaMarcotte : When was internet feminism EVER that? And why would internet feminism be a separate entity from "real world" feminism?

@AmandaMarcotte It is not feminism's job to convince people that women can be funny, that's ridiculous.
— T-Monkey????✡️ (@IUseVATSTooMuch) April 23, 2015
@AmandaMarcotte It's the job of feminism to combat misogyny in culture, and their comments deserved to be called out. What's the problem?
— T-Monkey????✡️ (@IUseVATSTooMuch) April 23, 2015
@AmandaMarcotte What exactly is funny anyway about straight-up calling someone a whore? Or implying that a prosthetic leg makes them ugly?
— T-Monkey????✡️ (@IUseVATSTooMuch) April 23, 2015
@AmandaMarcotte Internet feminism….that's a new one.
— NoBueno (@michellnav1) April 24, 2015
@AmandaMarcotte I'm old school feminist & damn funny, I don't have to prove that on the Interwebz. It's not them, dear…it's you #NotFunny
— Michelle (@NoCollusionFFS) April 24, 2015
@SeaBassNeely @AmandaMarcotte A movement is made of individuals. And it is the individual that is inherently funny or not. To proclaim that
— MrAtn (@MrAtn2) April 24, 2015
@SeaBassNeely @AmandaMarcotte a group or movement possesses the quality of an individual is… either bonkers or a warning about said group
— MrAtn (@MrAtn2) April 24, 2015
And if Marcotte wants to get angry at “Internet feminists” who can’t take a joke, maybe a look in the mirror is in order:

https://twitter.com/AmandaMarcotte/status/239104857343139840
https://twitter.com/AmandaMarcotte/status/239085885956706304
In other words, Marcotte gets to decide when a joke is outrageous or not, not you lowly “Internet feminists.” Please keep that in mind during any upcoming outrages, thank you.
