Former Boston Mayor Tom Menino, who was battling cancer, died today at age 71.
Twitter users are now sharing their memories of their beloved mayor who stepped onto the national stage after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013:
I will always remember when Menino found the strength to stand up from his wheelchair and address the crowd at the Boston Marathon Memorial.

Menino -a workhorse. His schedule often had him going 7 days a week. So much to remember including his leadership during marathon bombing
