Austin Metcalf's murder this week in Frisco, Texas, has almost all the makings of the kind of crime that the legacy media would normally salivate over, with one glaring exception that doesn't fit the narrative.
On Wednesday night, the 17-year-old Metcalf was attending a track meet at Memorial High School, where he was a student and athlete. Memorial had a pop-up tent that was reserved for its athletes and students when Karmello Anthony, also 17 years old, showed up in the tent despite being a student at rival Centennial High School.
From early reports, the two did not know each other, but Metcalf approached Anthony and told him he had to leave since the tent was for Memorial students. Anthony refused and, according to at least one witness, told Metcalf, 'Touch me and see what happens.'
Metcalf then allegedly grabbed Anthony's backpack, and Anthony responded by pulling out a knife and stabbing Metcalf through the heart. He died in his twin brother Hunter's arms on the scene. Anthony initially fled the scene and tried to hide the knife in the bleachers, but he was soon apprehended and admitted to police that he had killed Metcalf. He is claiming that the stabbing was an act of self-defense.
If I have left out a couple of salient details about the two young men, that was not by accident. Metcalf was a white student, and Anthony is a black one. Whoops. There goes the media narrative.

If the races had been reversed, this story would have been blanketed across the airwaves of every news broadcast -- cable and network -- for the past three days. They would have created special, attention-grabbing chyrons for the crime (and possibly its own theme music). They may have even put aside their raging TDS for a few days to make sure that everyone in America knew about this murder.
Instead, while there has not been a complete media blackout, it's clear that the legacy news is trying to avoid the story. And even when they have covered it, they have been careful to leave out, as I initially did, the races involved here.
Barely any news outlets covered Austin Metcalf. The few that did are making 0 mentions of race, ethnicity, color.

If you are looking for a broadcast clip about the murder from MSNBC or CNN, forget it. They don't exist. CNN did cover it with an online article where no mention is made of the races of the students involved. The same goes for CBS News, which focused on the aftermath, not the crime itself. I haven't seen any mention of it at MSNBC.
The races of the students shouldn't matter; this is true. This was a murder, plain and simple. But the legacy media does not get off the hook here with that defense. Because if the races were swapped, I can guarantee they would be the ones incessantly telling us that the races do matter.
The problem the media has today, however, is that, well ... they are no longer the media. Local and independent outlets have covered the story extensively, and the facts of the incident were known long before a corporate media outlet got their hands on it.
Since they can't hide all of the facts from being known, the left has decided to go with their next strategy, one they have often used in the past to great success: turn the criminal into the victim.

Excuse me? Metcalf 'provoked' Anthony into stabbing him through the heart by grabbing his backpack? At a high school sporting event?
Naturally, social media 'influencers' on the left picked up on this narrative and ran with it.
Whenever white supremacists immediately flood our mentions before the full story is even out, you know something’s up.

It turns out, Austin Metcalf was the aggressor, and the Black kid, Karmelo Anthony, was defending himself.pic.twitter.com/7gcDygFB9p
Ahhh, now Metcalf is the 'aggressor,' no different from all of the other 'white supremacists.'
They have even started a GoFundMe online for Anthony.

$8,550 has so far been raised out of a $50,000 target to support the killer who stabbed to death 17 year old high school student Austin Metcalf.

By the way, this is a clear violation of GoFundMe's policy that they say they adopted after January 6 that they do not permit fundraisers for people who are charged with violent crimes. But, of course, they don't care about their hypocrisy here.
Because what they are trying to do is clear. The 'George Floyd-ing' and 'Trayvon Martin-ing' of Karmello Anthony is now in full swing.
Anthony's father has, of course, come out and defended his son, claiming that he is a good kid and was not the aggressor.
You can’t make this up. Karmelo Anthony’s father is making him out to be the victim, saying that he was ‘not the aggressor’ and is a ‘good kid’

I can't condemn a man for wanting to defend his son. But I can and will condemn him for how he raised his son.
And I am not alone. Metcalf's father, who has already said that he forgives Anthony, had the same question:
'I’m not trying to judge, but what kind of parents did this child have? What was he taught? He brought a knife to a track meet and he murdered my son by stabbing him in the heart. The guy was in the wrong place and they asked him to move and he bowed up [became angry and aggressive]. This is murder.'
The elder Metcalf also questioned, as I have, how and why Anthony was permitted to bring a knife to a school track meet. I thought the left wanted schools to be 'safe zones.'
Some school administrators have a lot to answer for here.
As with Floyd or Martin, however, the left's 'victim narrative' is being undermined by photos and social media posts from Anthony just prior to the stabbing.

As for who was the aggressor, no one is disputing that Metcalf did grab Anthony's backpack. But there is no indication so far that Metcalf threatened Anthony in any way that could justify lethal retaliation or a claim of self-defense.
It is also clear from the timeline of events that Anthony deliberately went into the Memorial High School tent with the intention of antagonizing rival students. His photo holding up his middle finger, seen above, just before he went to the track meet will probably play heavily at his trial.
Some have also claimed that Anthony having the knife in his backpack at all proves that he was, in fact, 'looking for trouble.'I don't necessarily agree with that. He has every right to carry a knife with him, as we all do. (But again, how was he permitted to bring it ot the track meet?)
When Anthony said, 'Touch me and see what happens,' however, that is far more indicative that he was looking for trouble, and that statement also is going to be cited early and often by prosecutors in court.
Frisco, Texas, is located just north of Dallas. I have very little doubt that Anthony will be prosecuted and punished severely for his crime. He could face up to 99 years in prison.
I am perfectly happy to let those wheels of justice turn. I am confident that the outcome will reflect the reality of what happened in this tragedy (unlike certain Democrat-run jurisdictions in America).
But I will not tolerate the left and their media lackeys playing their usual narrative games with this incident.
They didn't want us to know what happened on Wednesday in Frisco. They realized that couldn't prevent that, so now, they are trying to flip the narrative. Turn the victim into the criminal and the criminal into the victim.
They won't get away with it.
Austin Metcalf is dead. His father, mother, and sister are mourning him, His brother Hunter will be scarred for life after watching the light go out in the eyes of his best friend and twin brother while cradling him in his arms.
And no matter what the left or the media says, Karmello Anthony killed him in cold blood. For no reason.
They don't get to turn this killer into George Floyd.
