I need to talk for a few minutes about 'weird.'
I know when the Democrats use this word to describe J.D. Vance and Trump supporters. It's not because they think Vance or MAGA are weird. On the contrary, it's explicitly because they know these people are perfectly normal. This is at the root of cultural Marxism. Mock traditional norms. Other them. Pretend they are not normal, all the while trying to normalize anything that has been historically considered weird.
Consider a boy who was raised in poverty and addiction. He overcame that challenge to join the United States Marine Corps, use the military to fund his education, attend an Ivy League law school, fall in love there, and raise three children with his wife. Does any of that sound 'weird'? That's Vance.
Now consider someone who -- as a grown man, mind you -- lies about every aspect of his life from his military service to his political record, signs legislation to protect pedophiles and encourage children to get sterilized and mutilated, dances around like a clown in public, but in private is always grimacing and glowering, even at his special needs son. That's Tim Walz.

Where it really gets ridiculous though is with Hollywood. We KNOW many of these people are weird, in and outside of any political lives they may have. Take George Takei, who has been credibly accused of drugging a young actor and then sexually assaulting him, yet has never had to answer for it. (And let's not talk about what Sulu has done on the Howard Stern Show.)
Or Ron Perlman, who once bragged that he urinated on his own hands and didn't wash them before shaking hands with someone. Granted, that someone was Harvey Weinstein, so I'm not defending him, but that is not normal behavior. Why not speak out against Weinstein, which is what any sane person would do? Because that, of course, would involve personal risk, and the only thing Hollywood people are more than weird is cowardly.
This brings us to Mark Hamill. And it kind of hurts how weird this man is. As a Gen Xer, I grew up with the original Star Wars franchise. Any true Gen X boy loved Han Solo the most, but Luke Skywalker did get to have the cool laser sword, so we loved him too.
But as an adult man, not a fictional character, the list of Hamill's awful antics is nearly endless. He has mocked couples who want to adopt children because he worships abortion. He worships it so much that he once tried to force his son's girlfriend to have an abortion. He even mocked Rep. Matt Gaetz for having an adopted son. He tried to call for a Twitter boycott because he doesn't like free speech and, when it failed miserably, he blamed Donald Trump (who wasn't even on Twitter at the time).
We could go on and on, but if you want to know the kind of person Hamill truly is, he charges people $400 just for an autograph (as Han Solo would say, 'delusions of grandeur').
Hamill is also obsessed with Trump. We know Trump broke a lot of people -- many of them in Hollywood -- but honestly, Hamill might be one of the worst. Hamill is so obsessed with Trump that, after the DNC, he actually tweeted a picture of himself at a hot dog restaurant, imagining eating weiners that were named after Trump.

How do people get this deranged? Honestly?
The answer to that question likely requires a dissertation more than a Twitchy article, but I have a few thoughts on the subject, particularly with respect to Hollywood types like Hamill.
First of all, Hamill is not an intelligent man. I could cite his lack of formal higher education, but that's not really what makes him dumb. College isn't an indicator of intelligence and never was. Just look at Matt Walsh or Jesse Kelly, two of (in my opinion) the smartest people in political commentary today. Neither attended a four-year college.
No, Hamill shows his lack of intelligence by refusing to learn anything about the issues he discusses and just repeating the going narrative. His commentary about adoption proves this.
Secondly, Hamill is a coward. There was one time when he liked a tweet from J.K. Rowling who was making a point that men cannot be women. Within one day, Hamill apologized for that. Yes, he apologized for liking a tweet. Imagine being that spineless.
Because he is a coward, Hamill will only ever take a position that will be affirmed by the leftists with whom he surrounds himself (and, let's be honest, have a big say over his income prospects). Those people say that you must hate Trump. So, Hamill, ever needing acceptance, tries to show everyone just how much he does hate Trump ... to the point of embarrassing himself with a tweet about Trump's 'wiener.'
Finally, maybe most importantly, Hamill does not live in the real world and never has. He has never had a job outside of acting (which, as a reminder, consists of repeating words other people tell you to say). He has never had a life outside of the world of make-believe. Turning Trump into a boogeyman is easy for him; he's been doing the same thing for his entire life.
But even outside of the Trump obsession, he doesn't understand the issue of adoption versus abortion because he's never had to know anyone who struggled with that. Both of these actions are whims in the world of Hollywood. He probably never even thought twice about trying to make his son's girlfriend get an abortion. After all, what's the big deal? The people in his world do it all the time.
I know I am not saying anything here that most Twitchy readers don't already know. Sorry about that. I hope you don't mind me asking you to read along with me as I explore this mental illness.
Ultimately, I think my point is not that we shouldn't listen to people like Hamill. We all already know that. And it's not even to laugh at Hamill (though some of those tweets above were damn funny). I've done that before and I will do it again.
No, I think my point is that I am pretty worried that the unbalanced behavior that Hamill exhibits has now spread far beyond Hollywood and has become characteristic of the majority of the Democrat party. Unintelligent, uninformed, cowardly, and living in a bubble far away from the experiences of the average American.
That is simply a recipe for disaster. Not for a political party, but for America if we don't begin to reject it.
I am not naive enough to believe that one presidential election will solve this. Of course, it won't. But we still have a chance to repudiate it in very strong terms.
Mark Hamill, my brother in Christ, you are dangerously weird.
And I hope Americans are smart enough this November to see you, the people like you, and the politicians you support as the weirdos you are. And summarily kick that weirdness to the curb.
