Sometimes I think that leftists keep unleashing more craziness on the world because they think it will make people forget about the craziness they pushed just a few months ago. More importantly, it will make people forget that they need to be held accountable for that lunacy.
As strategies go, you do have to kind of hand it to them. In 2024, most people are talking about pro-Hamas protests and the destruction of America's higher education institutions. You haven't heard too many people -- at least not too many people in power -- talking about how the left ALSO destroyed a generation of children with COVID lockdowns and mandates in schools.
Luckily, school choice champion Corey DeAngelis is not one to forget ... or to let anyone else forget. This weekend, while most of us were focused on police arresting really dumb college professors, the annual Washington, DC, nerd prom, and Joe Biden's latest bout of cringe dementia (or, even worse, Kristi Noem's puppy), DeAngelis took the opportunity to remind us all just how insane and hypocritical school administrators, teachers unions, and the government were with our children just a couple short years ago.
Because of how important it is to remember, I wanted to take a moment to walk down this twisted and warped memory lane with him.

Obviously, batting leadoff for the insane left are some of their favorite words: sexism and racism. They didn't ever explain exactly WHY wanting children to be in schools was sexist or racist ... we were just supposed to accept that it was.
Not bloody likely, teachers' unions. The push to re-open schools was rooted in wanting children to learn. Period. And many states, like Florida, showed us that opening schools presented no threat to anyone and was an immeasurable benefit to kids.
But you go off with your meaningless leftist buzzwords.
Speaking of the Chicago teacher's union, remember when they showed us what arrogant hypocrites they were? DeAngelis remembers.

Just like Gavin Newsom and the French Laundry, the rules were never meant for them, only for us. And for our kids, of course.
And hey, speaking of Gavin Newsom, how about this gem of hierarchy from Governor Brylcreem in 2021?

If DeAngelis had a nickel for every government official on the left who decried opening schools, and who still decry school choice, while sending their own kids to private school, he'd almost be as rich as Elon Musk.

Welcome to Flint. Where you can't drink the water and where your children can't go to school to learn, thanks to the left.

I actually DID forget about this one. The teachers' unions were SO concerned about schools being 'unsafe' that they decided that the only way we could make them safe was to grant every demand on their corrupt, socialist wish list.
Nothing like holding education hostage to show that you really care about the kids.
And in case you think the teachers' unions aren't all that powerful, DeAngelis was quick to remind us otherwise.

It is difficult to convey the true insanity of that headline. The Centers for Disease Control -- supposedly dedicated to science, knowledge, and safety -- took their cues on school closures from noted scientists and medical professionals like ... Randi Weingarten.
And they wonder why no one trusts them anymore.
But what's a teachers' union without a little hilariously melodramatic performance art? DeAngelis remembered that too.

We're not sure how those leftists survived to even go through COVID. Didn't the repeal of net neutrality kill everyone?
Way to oversell the drama, teachers. You're like a bad Reno 911 sketch.

Such professional victims. They didn't have time to teach children how to read and write. They were too busy eulogizing themselves.

They even used to call Ron DeSantis 'DeathSantis.' Remember that?
But when they weren't staging their own funerals -- because everything was SO unsafe -- they were teaching each other how to hide their hypocrisy so we couldn't call them out on it.

Remember: It wasn't unsafe to travel on spring break, it was only unsafe to let anyone KNOW you were traveling on spring break.
Are you nauseated yet? I am.
How about some more hypocrisy?
Remember when districts closed schools for learning but opened the same buildings for daycare while charging families hundreds of dollars per child per week?

You couldn't send your kids to school for class because it was deadly. But they could profiteer off of those empty classrooms to bilk parents who had no other daycare resources out of their savings.
Somehow, it wasn't deadly if it was lining their pockets.
And somehow, it also wasn't deadly for illegal immigrant children to go to class ... just your own children.

They couldn't have made it any clearer how much they hated American parents and students.
But we saved the best for last.
What better way for teachers' unions to show everyone how dangerous it was for them to do their jobs than through ... interpretive dance?
Because of course.
Remember when the Chicago Teachers Union made an interpretive dance video to protest going back to work?

If you couldn't make it through that full two minutes there, I can't blame you. I threw up in my mouth and not just a little.
If COVID wasn't able to kill everyone the way they pretended it would, they were going to do their best to make sure we all died from cringe.
Ultimately, the point of all of these reminders from Corey DeAngelis, of course, are the words he used on almost every tweet over the weekend: NEVER. FORGET.
They WANT us to forget what they did. They want us to forget their fearmongering, their lies, their hypocrisy, and their hierarchy. And with the daily disasters being engineered by the Biden administration, it can be easy to forget.
But we can't do that and we can't ever stop trying to hold people accountable.
If not, they will certainly try to pull every bit of this nonsense again -- and then some -- with the next 'crisis.'
