Tom Nichols is tweeting from his bunker of delusion again. The Chicken Little act from these folks is never-ending. If you’re old enough (probably about 10) you’ll remember that these people also predicted the end of the world if Trump was elected the first time.
Yes, in Tom’s mind, our constitutional system might be in the greatest danger it’s faced since the 1850’s. A time when black people were denied citizenship and held in slavery. A time when women were denied the right to vote. And a time when Democrats were threatening Civil War to protect slavery.
So what about today has Tom thinking things are so dire?
He’s afraid people might elect Republicans to office in the upcoming midterm elections. That’s right, all that democracy is going to destroy the Republic.
The United States is facing the greatest danger to its constitutional system since at least the 1950s, if not the *18*50s, and millions of people are like: Yeah, but gas, man
— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) October 22, 2022
How dare you little people worry about things that actually affect your lives instead of Tom’s fever dreams!
Have you seen the Botox-filled muppet in the White House and what he and his party are actively doing to our country? No offense, Tom, but you desperately need to pull your head out of your backside.
— 🐥The🐰FOO🌸 (@PolitiBunny) October 22, 2022
On the contrary, Tom is rooting for the muppet who favors infringing on 2nd Amendment rights, refuses to enforce border law, is using his DOJ to punish political opponents, belongs to a party threatening to undermine the Supreme Court, used his power to throw people out of work over a personal medical decision, and has called half of the American citizenry ‘semi-fascists’.

Sounds like the crew who will protect our constitutional system, Tom.

A necessary sacrifice for the constitutional system!
I agree that the President claiming unilateral power to spend a half trillion and avoiding judicial review is incredibly dangerous. But even I wouldn’t go this far. https://t.co/XNxZVjhuSV

Got ‘eeeem!
I will enjoy everyone's reaction when people vote red to be able to put food on the table and to feed their kids "but muh abortion and J6 cah mit tee" https://t.co/5QoGYrEdPc

If the red wave comes, it’s going to be the best Twitter we’ve ever seen. LOL!
Oh wow, who thoughtful and original Tom. pic.twitter.com/dD9YaZ4IZJ
— Not that frog (@Frog_O_War) October 22, 2022
It is really that sad.
The price of gas effects pretty much the price of everything you consume, so yeah, man, it’s kind of a big deal. And please, without hyperbole, explain this dire danger to us.
— Wendy Kortepeter (@WKortepeter) October 22, 2022
Hyperbole is all they have these days. This is not hyperbole.
So people voting in a manner different to what you approve is a threat? Maybe you are the one we should all fear as you stoke fear and continue to encourage division

What if you’re the bad guy, Tom?
LOLOLOL!

That’s the real issue here. Those of us in the peasant class won’t vote the way Tom tells us to.
— Britt Nessie (@DemocraticDaisy) October 22, 2022
These are your people now, Tom. They’re as unhinged as your tweet.
Tom Nichols thinks the possibility of Republicans and conservatives winning via free and fair elections is “the greatest danger to our constitutional system since the 1950s, if not the 1850s.”
I’d laugh if I weren’t so baffled. 🤦🏼♀️

We’re gonna laugh AND be baffled. Ha!

You’re going to struggle financially under Democrat rule and like it!
https://twitter.com/CheeseForEvery1/status/1583811778525683712?s=20&t=48tC3c4g-FGpCTu4vqCKRg
Exactly. This level of rhetoric is aimed at riling up voters to scare them into voting for Tom’s preferred candidates.
If there’s ever an organized push towards actual fascism in this country, it will be led by people claiming their opponents are fascists. Hmm …
Turns out people are more motivated by being able to feed their families than they are about manufactured histrionics about "our democracy".
People can be weird like that.
— Axiomatic Enemy of the State (@DeTocqueville14) October 22, 2022
But there was a riot at the Capitol almost 2 years ago! Who cares about your family, right?
They think everyone should be as invested in their narrative as they are.
The replies here with all the clowns crying “muh democracy” while excusing the dumpster fire this administration has made of the economy is really amazing.

Uh oh, Tom.
You’re right, Tom. The way the Biden administration has weaponized the FBI & politicized every government agency, it’s true. Definitely need to vote Republican this time.
— Brent (@brento76) October 22, 2022
A solution guy. We like it.
Of course, Tom’s goal here is not to *convince* anyone, or even to make a real argument about the nature of this supposed Constitutional crisis, but to ensure everyone knows he’s better than the poors and still hates Trump to the proper decree.
