Months-old photo used to falsely claim DeSantis had to 'bend the knee' to Biden for hurricane relief

A blue check liberal by the name of Tom Watson shared a photo of Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, and President Biden with the caption ‘DeSantis bends the knee’. We don’t know much about Mr. Watson aside from that he is a self-described writer, professor, and liberal.

The problem is the photo was taken in July when a condominium collapsed in Surfside, Florida, killing 98 people. Biden and DeSantis met, in a move that was widely praised as a good example of bipartisan leadership at the time, to ensure full cooperation in rescue and recovery efforts.

Watson (and others) shared the photo, implying the governor had to kowtow to Biden to ask for hurricane relief in the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Ian.

Twitter reacted harshly to the tweet.

The ‘why’ is apparently to get a ‘sick burn’ in on Ron DeSantis for leveraging federal assistance to ease the suffering of the people of his state.

Conservatives have always been proponents of smaller government control, arguing that local control is better, and it frees citizens from bureaucratic abuse from an overbearing federal government. If he views the head of a state government as having to ‘bend the knee’ to get federal disaster assistance, Tom Watson apparently agrees.

What a difference a couple seconds makes in a deceptively captioned photo, eh?

‘Misinformation’ is primarily information that is bad for liberals. Tom’s tweet is ‘fighting to save our democracy’ or something.

LOL.

So far, it appears DeSantis has done a tremendous job both planning for and coordinating the aftermath of the hurricane. The Left is well aware of this, hence the need to pretend Joe Biden is somehow the one doing the heavy lifting by releasing federal funds – which is typical in these situations.

He really didn’t think this one through, did he?

Exactly. Even if this had been a photo related to the Hurricane Ian relief effort, isn’t this exactly what we want our leaders to do? Nope, some on the Left want to be sure GOP politicians are shamed over politics when their constituents are suffering.

We’ve all been there.

Oof!

It’s okay to read your tweet, read it again, and maybe just one more time … before deleting it.

They ‘never let a serious crisis go to waste’.

Well said.

We would like to be able to echolocate, if we’re being honest.

It does seem rather fascist-y.
