The @WhiteHouse Twitter account gained extra notice recently after libs and the media (as always, pardon the redundancy) spent some time applauding the disingenuous comparisons between PPP and student loans in order to accuse some Republicans of hypocrisy. Here’s one such tweet from the White House:
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had $183,504 in PPP loans forgiven.https://t.co/4FoCymt8TB

Instead of maybe doing a fact-check to see if it’s fair to equate a student loan debt forgiveness push that’s being implemented by skirting Congress to a loan program that passed through Congress and was intended to cover losses for employers and employees during government-mandated shutdowns, the Washington Post is cheerleading the change in WH Twitter tone:
Analysis: The Biden White House gets feisty on Twitter https://t.co/tXYE13pRGs

Analysis: This administration’s tweets, long bland, have become punchy and even viral as the president has shown more willingness to go after Republicans. https://t.co/BzlR7RM5Q2

Appreciation for “feisty” White House tweets will of course disappear again when there’s a Republican in that office.
This is why they are bad. This is why their outrage at Trump on Twitter was purely performative. This is why these people are the actual problem. Washington Post is cancer. pic.twitter.com/5y96JG26Oc

If you’re keeping score at home, “mean tweets” are now going to be applauded until further notice!
NO MEAN TWEETS!!!

So now mean tweets are good! These hypocrites never stop!

Mean tweets are good now. https://t.co/BX56yzaEsW

Dems sure don’t mind the “mean tweets” if it’s their side doing the mean tweeting.
Lefties are now applauding a White House Twitter account that “claps back,” mostly because the Biden administration has a new employee:
Just five years after interning on Phil Murphy’s 2017 gubernatorial campaign, Livingston native Megan Coyne is on her way to the White House.
Coyne, one of the architects of New Jersey’s hugely successful Twitter account with an attitude departed last week as Murphy’s social media director to join the Biden administration.
“It’s an absolute dream come true to be joining the Office of Digital Strategy as Deputy Director of Platforms,” Coyne said on Twitter on Monday. “So excited for the journey ahead.”
Coyne and her boss at the time, Pearl Gabel, brought life and a quintessential New Jersey manner to a once dull state-run Twitter account that began to take off in 2019.
The media will be insisting the White House should return to having a “dull state-run Twitter account” when there’s a Republican back in the office.
They’re taking Trump’s formula but made sure to kick him off the platform first.
All to no avail

Funny how that worked out.
