Jonathan Chait says 'desire to use public policy to hurt people on the other side' is almost exclusively found on the Right

Earlier today we told you about an epic thread focusing on what will come next for the Left in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and sending the issue of abortion back to the states. The thread is basically about the Left pushing and Republicans/conservatives pushing back when they’d had enough and reclaim their rights. The thread from @lone_rides ended this way:

A “desire to use public policy to hurt the other side” is found mostly on the Right but hardly ever on the Left? That’s beyond laughable to anybody not living in an Acela corridor media bubble.

By Chait’s logic, the group of nuns legally defending themselves might constitute another example of the Right trying to “hurt people on the other side.”
