There was a scene at the United Nations this week that looked like it could have been in a Monty Python sketch when a U.N. Security Council meeting about addressing the Russia/Ukraine crisis was chaired by… Russia:
Members of the UN Security Council are still reading statements telling Russia not to invade Ukraine during a UN Security Council meeting which is currently being led by a representative from Russia at the same time as Russia bombs Ukraine.

That was too much even for former Obama deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes:
The UN was created to prevent wars exactly like this. What a mockery that Russia presided over the Security Council to justify what the Security Council was founded to prevent.

The U.N. has been a joke for a long time and Rhodes was once in an administration that could have done something about it:
Yes the UN had long been a mockery, why are progressives so in love with it? You had eight years to quit https://t.co/eEyeAb8CF9

Oh shut up. You guys cried bloody murder when Republicans suggested it was time to reform or leave the UN. You slammed Trump for leaving the UNHRC over it’s anti-Semitism.
Now you want to talk about how bad the UN is? https://t.co/iwenTRyFH0

People like Rhodes and other Team Obama/Biden members owe Trump an apology.
Is this an apology to trump for when he would make fun of the UN? https://t.co/8R8Y5qfTbY

The UN has been a joke for decades. https://t.co/kNWrdirDX6

You only figured out that the UN was a mockery now? Most of us have known that for years. https://t.co/HUVlTW9hX1
