The U.S. State Department is ordering families of Embassy personnel in Ukraine to start leaving the country as soon as Monday, according to reports.
At his Wednesday press conference, President Biden said that a U.S. response, if Russia goes into Ukraine, would be less severe if it was a “minor incursion.” Jen Psaki spent much of the next day trying to clean that up. However, the Biden White House can take a bit of comfort knowing that a segment of the media will help them spin whatever happens. The Daily Beast is leading the way with a piece that’s one part “Republicans pounce” and one part “Trump’s fault”:
As Vladimir Putin lays the groundwork for an invasion of Ukraine, Republicans in Congress have been laying the groundwork to blame Joe Biden for failing to prevent an attack.
But Donald Trump may bear more responsibility for the looming crisis with Russia.https://t.co/wtQhpNUJEs— The Daily Beast (@thedailybeast) January 22, 2022
You knew that was coming.
Just. Wow. You guys really outdid yourselves with this nonsense, lol.
Psst, the bigger story is Russia invading Ukraine, trust me. https://t.co/3UVehxSBgs

Did Ron Klain write this for you?
This is the epitome of flailing. https://t.co/9fP3CV4Zil

The White House couldn’t have spun the story any better. We’re a little surprised the story hasn’t earned a Ron Klain retweet yet, but maybe that’s coming.

I’m thinking of becoming a democrat. I’m tired of taking responsibility for my failures. From now on any negative consequences that arise from my decisions will be Trumps fault. I feel better already. Now where’s my free government shit.

Invasion? Don't you mean minor incursion?

As an American with Lithuanian roots, I hate being gaslit about Russia and seeing revisionist history proliferate.
Russia gains are made largely under Democratic administrations. See 2009-2014.
Truth: Trump admin *actually* acted against Kremlin instead of "talking tough." https://t.co/AHRMB40DBr
