Yesterday, Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler was upset because the jury at the trial for Kyle Rittenhouse followed the facts instead of the Left’s narrative. Nadler said he would be asking the Justice Department to take action:
This heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by DOJ. Justice cannot tolerate armed persons crossing state lines looking for trouble while people engage in First Amendment-protected protest. https://t.co/Uh95Uc1Ddo

Laurence Tribe agreed, and explained why:
I join Chairman Nadler in that request. The idea that other vigilantes could take it upon themselves to shoot innocent people to death the way Rittenhouse did and get away scott free is incompatible with the survival of a civilized, law-based society. https://t.co/qsHdzBFy0a

Apparently a “law-based society” can only be attained if juries decide the way the political Left demands.
They completely ignored the facts of the trial and demand he be rung up on federal charges after he’s acquitted. The goal here is obvious — to intimidate the right to make sure they don’t defend themselves from left-wing riots or engage in their own protest actions. https://t.co/JdvXXW6CZ3

That’s exactly why they’re freaking out about the outcome of the trial, and it couldn’t be more obvious.
The clear message here is that, even if a jury of your peers finds you not guilty, plenty of people on the left (including members of Congress) will do whatever they can to ensure you’re punished if you have the wrong politics. https://t.co/9Intv7owZg

People like Tribe concluded that Rittenhouse was guilty as soon as he heard the news. They already had a fixed narrative. These calls will continue, facts be damned. https://t.co/fI9yeIpyJX

“We’re going to mobilize the DOJ if we don’t like trial outcomes” doesn’t really have a “law-based society” feel to it.
If you're outraged Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't prosecuted, you're either too stupid or ignorant to have looked at the facts, hate white people, or have dehumanized people on the "other side" so much you don't care about innocence or guilt.

A civilized, law-based society wouldn't allow criminals to burn and loot our cities without consequence.
"Vigilante justice" is what you get when there's no formal justice, Larry. https://t.co/DlFXnjaduu

This is a Harvard Law Professor commenting on a verdict from a trial he never watched. The only information he has on this trial is from watching MSNBC & CNN. https://t.co/wLc17u4XYB
