Earlier this week, CNN’s Chris Cuomo offered what he referred to as an apology to his colleagues for putting them “in a bad spot.” People at CNN reportedly found Cuomo’s interactions with his brother, the governor of New York, to be a “violation of traditional journalistic standards” after apparently waiting about a year before expressing any problems with what he’d been doing. Cuomo said he made a mistake:
“Being a journalist and a brother to a politician is… a unique challenge, and I have a unique responsibility to balance those roles,” says @ChrisCuomo regarding reports that he offered advice to his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “It was a mistake.” pic.twitter.com/P0GkglgrYM

Cuomo referring to himself as a “journalist” caught the attention of Janice Dean, who left a mushroom cloud over that claim:
Faked a Covid quarantine, had access to friends and family Covid tests when they were scarce to the public and nursing homes couldn’t get any, never asked the “luv guv” any serious questions the 6 times you had him on your show during the pandemic. You are not a journalist. https://t.co/YfKFT5gRjQ

Oh yeah—and gave him advice about his sexual harassment problems. Any other “journalist” would probably be fired.

Ooops I got it wrong. Forgive me. @ChrisCuomo had @NYGovCuomo on his @CNN program 9 TIMES from March-June during the height of the pandemic. The ethical issues were apparently not an issue back then. https://t.co/O5tD98KDVc

You and your brother are an absolute disgrace.

And that just about says it all.
