Everybody’s fully aware that the current trend on the Left is to blame capitalism and the modern conveniences of life for causing climate change and any other number of problems — often voiced ironically by being tweeted on iPhones from inside an air-conditioned Starbucks. That has The Economist sharing a take that questions if certain things actually improve the quality of life:
Light to all nations? There is little evidence that electricity and light truly transform people's lives https://t.co/7qGSOVioTx

The story itself is from earlier this year, but the fresh tweet made it worth shining a bright light on (oops) because of all the fresh facepalms:
You. Used. Electricity. To. Post. This. Unbelievable. Crap.

The irony probably escaped them.
I'm old enough to remember when the Economist wasn't such a f*cking joke. https://t.co/HXlJJmTIGV

Right, it's just:
Fresh food
Sanitation
Time to complete tasks/study
Reduced chores
Climate control
Access to information
Reduced crime https://t.co/J6VISCKuJX— Dead Agent (@Recursion_Agent) October 10, 2019
Soon they’ll be putting out articles revealing that regular meals and protection from the elements are dangerous addictions that you should learn to live without as early as possible. https://t.co/Jh4kyZx86z

I don't understand the business model of trading decades of credibility and a brand for a bunch of clicks and shocked reaction on the internet, but ok https://t.co/0gxBUJYSf7

Log off your computer and go live in a mud hut from now on.

For some reason we’re pretty sure they don’t plan on doing that.
