James Comey tries to explain Peter Strzok & Lisa Page's anti-Trump texts but only makes himself look worse

As we told you earlier, James Comey’s town hall on CNN included some serious efforts to keep the Dems’ Russia narrative alive. Another topic that arose was that of former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, whose anti-Trump texts are well documented.

First, host Anderson Cooper had to lay down some background so anybody who only gets their news from liberal media outlets knew what they were about to discuss:

And then Cooper asked Comey about Strzok and Page, whose actions the former FBI director said he regretted:

Comey called it a “personal tragedy” for Strzok in particular:

“Peter Strzok is a very talented agent,” Comey said. “It’s a personal tragedy for him. But, as much as I care about individuals, I care about the institution more. It hurt the institution.”

Comey would no doubt gladly slam Trump for things the people working under him say or do, but apparently those “rules” are different when the subject is the FBI under Comey’s watch.

Yeah, maybe at least one more name.

It’s all far from over, hence the House Democrats’ scramble to stop Bill Barr.

Comey said that Strzok and Page’s anti-Trump comments made the entire FBI “look bad,” but is it really difficult to believe Comey shared similar sentiments on the job?
