Talk about getting rid of the Electoral College has been all the rage among Dems since the 2016 election, and Hillary Clinton superfan Peter Daou tested the Twitter waters with this poll questions:
POLL: Abolish the electoral college?

So how’s that going? Well, it’s got a high element of backfire so far:
But a potential culprit was spotted:
FYI, take this into account when you see the results of the poll. pic.twitter.com/GAXIxpzgtd

Uh oh, he’s gotten suspicious!

However, the joke’s on everybody else, or something:
I laugh when the right tries to game my Twitter polls. First, I post them primarily to gauge how my friends/followers feel, or I use them as a rhetorical device. So trying to skew the results is a ludicrous exercise. And I assume these people know Twitter polls aren't scientific?

Honestly few self-owns are funnier than a bunch of rightwingers doing victory laps over trying to skew the results of a Twitter poll meant to gauge how my Dem/progressive friends feel on an issue.

He tried. But anyway, time to rethink the “popular vote” thing?

LOL.
Why didn’t the Framers think of the Twitter poll as a means of amending the Constitution https://t.co/DP3u8bOnlc

This self own belongs in the Twitter HOF https://t.co/hvQIS2tcdZ

And that’s good news.
The closing point on this one goes to Adam Baldwin:
Only poll number that matters in this case is the number of states it would require to amend the Constitution.https://t.co/qktVYHyXHt
