WaPo political reporter defends AOC's Green New Deal language that's not meant to be taken literally

Details in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal proposal have sent many heads to desks and palms to faces. One example had to do with a section about “farting cows” and getting rid of airplanes asap:

And that’s when Washington Post political reporter Dave Weigel came to AOC’s defense, saying that the proposal doesn’t really say what it says:

Weigel also addressed the “farting cows” and defended AOC from ridicule of the proposal:

A member of Congress has made a proposal that would cost in the tens of trillions if not more and there are parts not meant to be taken literally?
