As we told you yesterday, MSM credibility took yet another hit after the New York Times was shamed into making changes to an article that took aim at Nikki Haley about spending that was planned and approved during the Obama administration. Stephen Hayes put it this way:
Why mention Haley at all if she wasn’t responsible for the purchase in question? It was a badly executed hit piece that will further undermine conservatives’ views of the mainstream media. https://t.co/IPR8oICbgo

Ron Fournier would like everybody to cool it on the media criticism, because guardians of the First Amendment, or something:
Why use every mistake and transparent acknowledgment of error to paint an entire industry — the bulwark of the First Amendement — with a broad brush? https://t.co/Y6XmbNMwjq
— Ron Fournier (@ron_fournier) September 15, 2018
OK, who wants to tell him?
Who uses every error to do this? Not me. It’s good that they corrected. But the original piece reeks of bad faith – a narrative in search of an example. It’s exactly why Trump’s arguments about the media – exaggerated and irresponsible as they are – have resonance. https://t.co/RDIDXrq4l5

That, and so much more:
Oh please. https://t.co/SxLoY7B8a5
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) September 15, 2018
Because these mistakes always go in one direction. You don’t have a trademark on the First Amendment.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) September 15, 2018
"How dare you criticize us? Don't you believe in free speech?"
— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) September 15, 2018
Because after decades of these “mistakes” always going in one direction, you can see the correlation. Clown. https://t.co/DNVFsmOWg6
— RBe (@RBPundit) September 15, 2018
Maybe because the errors are invariably in the same direction…
— The Mighty JC (@ItsjustMEtalkin) September 15, 2018
It wasn’t simply a mistake. At the very least, it was a story that was too good to check.
— Chuck Dryden (@Chuck_Dryden) September 15, 2018
This was more than a simple fact or spelling mistake. It was an effort to further a transparently partisan political narrative, the truth be damned.
The MSM is reaping what it has sowed. https://t.co/rwD30THMws
— Matthew Hoy (@hoystory) September 15, 2018
Really? Because something like this happens a couple times a week and these "mistakes" are always in one direction. Every. https://t.co/vNS6gyXm8l.
That's why.
— carol bliss (@bliss1982) September 15, 2018
The people are the bulwark of the First Amendment, not the press. https://t.co/qek6BFrAoc
— Jay Cost (@JayCostTWS) September 15, 2018
If one is an accident, two times is a coincidence and three times is enemy action, what’s that make several media “mistakes” every week that almost always favor liberals?
