SO authentic! Dem Rep. in pro-Trump Pa. district hopes taking up deer hunting will boost re-election effort

Many midterm elections this November could come down to the wire, and at least one Democrat in Pennsylvania is pulling out all the stops:

Hey, maybe he learned something from another Democrat back in 2004:

And as everybody knows, in that election, Kerry went on to… on second thought maybe the hunting strategy isn’t the best idea.

Yep, there’s no better way for a politician to convince voters of his/her sincerity than by taking up (insert whatever sport/hobby many locals take part in) during the heat of a re-election battle.

From the New York Times:

But the congressman has strained to avoid such typecasting as a liberal shill. Among other flourishes, he has been eager to share word of a new hobby with prospective voters: deer hunting.

“My job is to get to know people and learn about their passions,” he said in the interview.

There is another upside. “It helps me talk to Republican members of Congress, too,” Mr. Cartwright said. “It’s a nice way to say, ‘You know, I don’t hate you.’”

But Cartwright might already know that’s not going to help him connect with progressive Dems:

A certain Dem in a pro-Trump district is really between a rock and a hard place.
