President Trump tweeting yesterday about demanding the Justice Department “look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump campaign for political purposes” made former CIA Director John Brennan sound the deep state alarm. Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein is among those who are troubled by Trump calling for an investigation, partly because she doesn’t think he has that authority:
The president's statement indicating that he will order the Justice Department to investigate the FBI could not be more disturbing and reiterates his deep contempt for the rule of law.

The Justice Department is not an arm of the White House. The Justice Department is independent and serves the American people. Its job is to follow the facts and the law. Law enforcement investigations must be initiated and carried out free from political interference.

Er, speaking of “rule of law”:
1. The DOJ is part of the executive branch, which you should probably know if you're a US Senator.
2. All of this makes more sense if you just assume that everyone in the federal government is lying to you until proven otherwise. https://t.co/43Rrq48CVK

DoJ is neither "an arm of the White House" nor is it "independent".
JFC doesn't anyone on the left CONSTITUTION? https://t.co/5OND2aGaZx

Feinstein seems to have highly selective priorities and concerns here.
Really? Your not saying DOJ did anything wrong! Only worried about how The President responded! That is disturbing! https://t.co/NunZ50dFkU

That seemed to have slipped your mind when #BillClinton lumbered up the steps and into #LorettaLynch's plane. Ot also slipped your mind when #EricHolder proclaimed himself #BarackObama's 'wingman'. #ResignFeinstein, you're a hypocrite https://t.co/ynCergrDZL

I don’t understand why Democrats are fighting this so much – if there truly was an effort by the Obama administration to interfere with the election, even those who do not like Trump should want answers. If there is nothing to hide what’s the big deal here? https://t.co/F5lBvkBNp4

It’s almost like the Dems don’t really want to know, as Hillary’s book title puts it, “what happened.”
